Keystone Thrills second meet-up was definitely a SUCCESS!!!!! Here are some pics from the day, as well as general park improvements for the 2011 season. I must say they were hard at work with different things for the new season which were definitely visible.
The new solar parking area at Chocolate World. I bet this was popular during yesterday's rain.
The sign for "Hersheypark Place" coming this summer!
Looks like some new window displays made their way here this year.
Welcome to the new 2011 coaster season!
This area will look quite different next year.
Sidewinder's new train. I am all excited about this considering at how I really hated the thing and refused to ride it up until now.
Some of us hanging out while waiting to ride Fahrenheit!
Alex, Lori and her boyfriend hanging out while waiting for the rest of us to come off from Fahrenheit.
The Ferris Wheel refurbishment is still on-going. I hope it'll be ready for summer opening day!
Hanging out out at Midway!
The Keystone Thrills group taking some time for group photos!
Wild Mouse's new sign.
Wait, who do I see on the phone over there?
My goodness, it's our very own Nick P. (The Storm Runner)!
Taking a food break.
The new Spring Creek Smokehouse was up and running. I'll be trying this place out sometime this season.
Wave Swinger's new sign.
Looks like Wave Swinger got a partial refurbishment. The central tower appears to have different brighter colors to it.
The park is celebrating the Dry Gulch Railroad's 50th anniversary this year. Here's the station with its new sign.
The train engines were also redone and feature this nifty looking logo. On a side note, the arches from Candylane were still on the trestles, so I'm guessing the park is using them this year to help commemorate the occasion.
Well that's it folks, hope you enjoyed the update. I currently plan on attending summer opening day with Chris to check out Sidewinder's new train and enjoy the park again. See you next month!
