I don't think it was a rumor, but a guess the HPCrazy that made since he said the Boardwalk looks Disney-like.
I personally knew it wasn't possible from the very beginning becasue why would Disney want to have a market up here in northeast when they have a couple other parks around the world? The Boardwalk does look detailed, but they basically shopped at the same place that Outback Steakhouse and Red Lobster shop at: Nautical Furnishings. Disney more than likely makes their own things were most of the thing the park picked up are actual objects that were collected (the lighthouse, bouy, boat, netting, etc).

Plus, if Disney did own them, we'd posssibly be paying $75 to enter and have a big castle instead of the Kissing Tower.

I have never heard this rumor before, I dont even think that Disney would even want Hershey.

Like I said, I mentioned it since someone else told me about it and said it was true. Even if this was owned by Disney, I highly doubt that they would come in, bulldoze around, and add a castle.

And Disney doesn't make all their theming. They, too, shop around for some of their props, like Hershey. But a majority of their theming is done by them from the get-go.

Hershey Entertainment and Resorts Company. There is an article on Wikipedia about them, and I believe Hershey Entertainment and Resorts Company is listed as the owner of the park on the Wikipedia article.

I know there's only so far one can trust Wikipedia, but if Disney owned Hershey, it'd definitely say it on there.

This is not really an addition, but felt it fit here the best. We were at HersheyPark last night, and the Coal Cracker track/water trenchs have been completely removed from the second lift hill on (at least from what I can see). All that is left are the support beams and the u frame on top of it that holds the water trenchs.

I tried getting a picture, but all I had was my camera on my blackberry which didn't some out at all.

They do that every season, just usually once the park closed. They're continuing to do renovations on the ride (they've been slowly taking each lift or chute apart and rebuilding it over the years) so they're replacing some of the walkways and re-fiberglassing the ride.

If I can remember correctly, the last two off-seasons saw extensive refurbishment work for Coal Cracker. I remember rumors circulating around in early 2007 that the ride would be removed. That never happened. Like what hpinsane said and I agree with him, it's all refurbishment work.

Just goes to show you that the ride isn't leaving anytime soon.

I dont think Coal Cracker was ever rumored to be removed, it was supposed to get renovated.

There just redoing the fiberglass on the ride. It takes a beating during the summer lol.

I think the parts that were refurbished got repainted. This was noticable in early 2008 when I was at STITP and at Harley Day. You could see where they applied new paint versus the sections that were never touched. I guess their goal is to completely re-do the whole thing.

I've noticed them doing this over the years, too. Every ride needs renovation, and winter is the best time for most.

Unless it's a year-round operation like Disney World where they must shut something down for a planned rehab of some sort.

That might be it, too.

No. We would have known months ago if something big - or anything, for that matter - were coming.

^ Thats true, and we would have also seen construction by now, expecially if it was something big.

Defintely agreed. Fahrenheit was announced in September of 07 (I was at Disney World when it was announced) and the SEA-qual in July of 2008, I believe.

That's exactly what I figured. Too short of time to have a big project. Just wondering, though.

The Park has released a decent amount of news about shows, admission prices and more.

The park is doing auditions for their shows. It seems like several are staying, but it seems like the Music Box Way is getting 2 new ones.

Admission for the summer hasn't gone up and is still $52.95. That is good to hear.

Pin Trading seems to be very popular. Here is a page explaining the trading policy and where to buy them. The online store seems to have only a few of them, but over half of them are sold out!
If you look in the apperal section of the store, they have been also selling some retro Sooperdooperlooper T-Shirts as well.

I already saw that info about the shows. Looks like Music Box, the Aquatheatre and Amphitheatre are getting all-new shows and the rest are staying. I'm guessing we'll see official info in the entertainment page soon.

N'Disguise was new for the park in 2009, so it's actually a returner. It was a couple of times a day by the Mini Pirate and Fender Bender.

I have to stop and see more of their shows when they happen. I normally just skip right past them. The one I see the most is the Milkmen, though.

The Intercoastal Waterway exit has changed. You will be exiting at a different spot. (This did get confusing)

Only single tubes will be at Intercoastal Waterway. So, no more double tubes. (This makes me mad, I liked the double tubes)

There will no longer be standing water, or the pool of water underneath East Coast Waterworks. (I kind of liked walking in the small pool of water under there.)

I was able to get a picture of the new show set in the Aqua theater. Would have had one from the Monorail, but by the time I noticed, it was too late, so here's one from the ground.

One thing that you can see in the picture..on the left side on the raised platform is a large wooden wagon.

Looks western-themed, with water.

Thanks for the info. I look forward to seeing the rest of the line-up for August when the dates are announced. That's usually when I make it during the summer.

I like how the set fits the theme of the area. I hope it's a better show this year. I was disappointed with the Great Candy Caper show. I'm feeling rather optimistic about the new shows coming to Hersheypark this year though.

Perhaps they'll include it into the Frontier area. I remember when, a few years ago, they re-routed the exit so that it comes out at the bottom near Trailblazer.

I believe that's how it is now. As far as I can recall, in the 2009 season you we required to enter and exit via the Trailblazer lower entrance. The upper entrance was for handicap only.

Yeah I never saw people exit out the top the last time I went. Seems logical for it to be on the bottom.

Exactly why I used to avoid that bridge when a show let out. Perhaps they've been receiving too many complaints on the issue.

looks cool! I enjoyed watching the old show with my girlfriend last year... and getting sprayed with water guns during it. lol should be fun!

There is a Paramore concert apparantly on August 7th. It's on their website. Only reason I know is because of my Sister. She's a huge fan. I however, am not. LOL. I will probably be taking her to the park that day for her to see the show though.

That show is at the Star Pavilion. It is outside of the park. Park admission and concert admission are separate.

I will have to check it out again. Not that much of a big deal, I can just get her tickets. But their website said the Ampitheatre I believe......

Yeah just checked again. That's what their site says anyway. If that's the case they need to get it updated....

Ha ha. I saw "Our Friends from the Sea" poster outside the aqua theater when I took that pic and was wondering how the new set fit into that show. Makes total sense now. Lets see if they do another cheesy pre-voiced over show. (I'm not saying the the Chocolate Pearl show was bad. It was quite entertaining)

They were doing Our Friends from the Sea during last weekend's private parties.

I ment that the Friends from the Sea show will not be the main Aquatheatre show. They may also run it until the main show opens.
